Elegant tea store with a small, but delicious
selection of teas and cakes. Rose-water
flavored cakes are one of many novelties,
in this store that
defined its own style of pastries. The
lemongrass souffle, made of a thin layer of
lemongrass
custard and a thin layer of puffy
cheesecake in a
heart-shaped shortbread crust, is well worth
trying. The
available cakes change often, and are not
all of even
quality, but you will find something
good and original each time you go. The
Red Tea Box
also
serves delicious lunches, and English-style
high-tea in the afternoon.

I went to the Red Tea Box with a friend on a rainy day in June and very much enjoyed my lunch and delicious cake! I had read several reviews and although they were mostly negative I still had the urge to go. Very sad that some people are such snobs about reviewing restaurants!
I had a lovely meal and wonderful service! All of the staff I encountered were friendly and inviting. A very quaint place!
I will definitely be going back and recommending it to friends.

I went there for the first time and was absolutely charmed by the interior. reminded me of paris, the only problem is that like mentioned previously, looks ARE deceiving. what reminded me of a great place with quality turned out to be another scam that just rips you off. granted, the tea IS good but holy hell expensive- there is a tea place a few blocks down called TEALISH that sells high quality delicious tea for HALF THE PRICE (and you get more) with awesome service. just saying because i went straight there afterwards. i got two of their cakes which looked amazing and sounded good (rose water? yum) but when I started to eat them I was HIGHLY disappointed. i know what good red velvet cake tastes like, all i got from the red box was a square of stale, overly creamy (tasted like lard) cake that wasn't mixed properly- i could literally taste the texture of sugar and flour. gross. the other cake i had was hard as a rock and difficult to cut into, overall for spending TWENTY DOLLARS on their TINY cakes i was so unsatisfied. dufflet, queen of tarts, etc. all those places are better then this. the only thing red box has going for them is their interior and perhaps catering to rich people who don't mind spending $21 for like 12oz of tea.
