Elegant tea store with a small, but delicious
selection of teas and cakes. Rose-water
flavored cakes are one of many novelties,
in this store that
defined its own style of pastries. The
lemongrass souffle, made of a thin layer of
lemongrass
custard and a thin layer of puffy
cheesecake in a
heart-shaped shortbread crust, is well worth
trying. The
available cakes change often, and are not
all of even
quality, but you will find something
good and original each time you go. The
Red Tea Box
also
serves delicious lunches, and English-style
high-tea in the afternoon.

I make fine desserts to order from my home. I decided to try this place and just to check how my desserts stand up to theirs....$10 for a small cake with moderate deco skills??!!! Ok... I bought 2. I tried them with my mother....They were STALE!!! I have never sold a stale cake in my life, let alone let one sit for that long hence "to order". EW!!!! I was so disgusted! No wonder I am so busy with orders and they're always empty! BOOO!

The Red Tea Box - i always walk by their store window and look in with awe on all the beutiful desserts and delectables showcased in their window. So when i was planning my wedding last year, they were the only name on my list for a wedding cake - I wanted to do either a cake or petite-fours for all the wedding guests. So i called to book an appointment, got their voicemail and left a message - no call back - called and left a message again - no call back - Finally when called a third time i spoke to a disinterested, cold woman who just so turned me off that now i walk on over to Dufflet without even galncing at their snooty window. In case you're wondering - i purchased a fabulous wedding cake from Dessert Trends on Harbord - great service and artistry as well :)
