Le Gourmet

Le Gourmet is a fine food store, featuring
pastries and chocolates, as
well as French wines, and a large
assortment of
Western-style
(flavoured) teas. The pastry section is rather
small but the pastries
are of high quality and taste good;
examples are the classic
tiramisu and opera, but also creations by Le
Gourmet like the
chocolate-apricot cake (composed of
chocolate
cake, chocolate mousse
and apricot mousse), and the white
chocolate mousse
layered cake.
Croissants and various kinds of muffins are
also
available. The
chocolate side of the store is well stocked,
with
around 25 different
kinds. The chocolates can be chosen one at
a time.
They are all very good and filled with
traditional
centers, plus some new ones like green
tea. The
classic palais
d'or (bittersweet ganache in dark
chocolate)
is particularly
fine.
Unfortunately the chocolates don't come
with an
explanation sheet, so you'll have to
remember what
center is in which chocolate.
Le Gourmet also has
another
store in Siam Paragon, and a counter at
The
Emporium.

Don't go there without loads of cash, as it's quite expensive and they refuse credit cards...
