User Reviews and comments on Solferino

Tasty ice cream, but not really gelato. Tastes more like just good quality ice cream. Solferino's product lacks the soft, creamy texture of true gelato. Also, I miss the traditional flavours. I like the nut flavours and caramel flavours. Solferino only has chocolate and vanilla; everything else is fruit! But it's still worth a visit.

An exceptional ice cream!!! The fruity flavours and the texture is definitely the best in the city. I had never before tasted such a delicious ice cream. Now I have become an addict of the place. I hope they will offer ice-cream to go too. Would love to have a litre of solferino in my house for my late night cravings.

I discovered Solferino this week. The gelato is incredible, the place is beautiful, and even the colombian coffee is great. Even though this is a very high-quality product, the prices are surprisingly affordable.

They do have take away containers for the gelato-two sizes at least. Try the coconut-amazing.

lovely gelatos with intense flavours; NOT ice cream, as the gelatos are made with milk, not cream, and the sorbettos are water-based; they are also all made on-site; i understand the non-traditional flavours can be attributed to the South American gelato-maker

This place continues to offer exceptional gelato, and they are adding new flavors all the time. I have to stop for a gelato everytime I am in the area, and so does my girlfriend and her kids. I guess we are becoming addicts..but it is a delicious addiction!!!!

Try the new pumpkin flavour, for a boo-tiful mouthful of the season.

They keep adding new flavors. I cannot decide which is the best. And every time I go there I face a big dilemma. Shall I try a new flavor..or shall I stick to the one I already know and love? It doesn't matter which is my decision....the gelato is always great!!!

This place not only has the most surprising and delicious gelatos in the city but they also have the best hot chocolate in town. Try it on a cold day.

I'm lucky enough to work a couple of doors down from Solferino and am enjoying scoops of both the coconut and dulce de leche right now. So good!

I just wanted to let you know that I discovered a great combo: hot chocolate with vanilla gelato!!!! It was an accidental discovery..I purchased the hot chocolate (I love it) and my boyfriend had the vanilla gelato. I took a small scoop from him that accidentally fell into my chocolate. Yuuuummmmmyyyy!!!!!!!

Tasted great, really stingy on the serving size. Once you lost the void space, the cup was only a little more than 3/4 full. Others serve you an overflowing cup.

Overpriced, gooey and stingy. Dissappointed in serving size for price and the overdose of sugar vs flavour. I knew I should have stopped at the Dominion up the street! Never again.
