Solferino's product lacks the soft, creamy texture of true gelato. Also, I miss the traditional flavours. I like the nut flavours and caramel flavours. Solferino only has chocolate and vanilla; everything else is fruit! But it's still worth a visit. An exceptional ice cream!!! The fruity flavours and the texture is definitely the best in the city. I had never before tasted such a delicious ice cream. Now I have become an addict of the place. I hope they will offer ice-cream to go too. Would love to have a litre of solferino in my house for my late night cravings. In response to Jo on June 20 2005- it is definately gelato and not ice cream- have you tried their hazlenut-fantastic! I discovered Solferino this week. The gelato is incredible, the place is beautiful, and even the colombian coffee is great. It was an accidental discovery..I purchased the hot chocolate (I love it) and my boyfriend had the vanilla gelato. I took a small scoop from him that accidentally fell into my chocolate. Yuuuummmmmyyyy!!!!!!!
