A large variety of French-style pastries, mostly mousse-cakes, are available at La Bergamote. Unfortunately the cakes have no label describing them, but the pleasant staff will help you decide. Try for example a nice praline-pistachio charlotte -- a base of sponge cake, a layer of hazelnut mousse, a thin layer of chocolate cake, and a layer of pistachio mousse surrounded by tiny champagne biscuits. Light lunches (quiches, sandwiches) as well as morning pastries (croissants and such) are also on display.

La Bergamotte has a second store at 515 West 52nd. Street in New York.

I just had the best Chocolate Mousse Cake I've ever had in my ENTIRE life. We ordered it for my co-worker's birthday party and it was unbelievable. I highly recommend this place.
